Special Note: GPS systems are still a challenge in the mountains! Please do not rely on them as you will encounter several of WV's finest dirt and stone roads on an unnecessary detour. If you're coming by Jeep or 4x4 and looking for some fun--- by all means enjoy!

Washington DC to Lost River, WV

• I66 West to I81 South
• You will get off of Interstate 81 South at the exit for Strasburg, about 4 miles south of Front Royal, VA  - Exit 296 is where you will be getting off of I81 South.
• Take exit 296 for U.S. 48/Virginia 55 toward Strasburg, when you get off the ramp turn right onto US­48 W/VA­55 W/John Marshall Hwy, you will stay on this road for 18-20 miles and then come to the town of WARDENSVILLE, WV (don’t speed in Wardensville, the speed limit drops to 25 mph and they give tickets!)        
• 3 miles after you go through the little town of Wardensville the road will turn into a big four lane highway but it’s still called WV 48/55 – you will go about 8 miles on this road (this road is newly created and does not show up on most GPS Units)
• Take the W Virginia 259 S exit toward W Virginia 29/Baker            (there is no exit number)
• At the bottom of the ramp turn left onto W Virginia 259 S/Old Highway 55           
• Go about ½ mile and Turn left onto W Virginia 259 S (there is a BP Gas Station and a store called “A Corner Mart” on the corner at this turn
• Go 7 miles on that road and then turn left onto Mill Gap Rd   (you will pass a Red Lost River Yoga Barn right before the turn comes up and on the corner of the intersection is the Lost River General Store)
• Follow Mill Gap Road for about 2 miles
• Turn left onto Settlers Valley Way           
• The Guesthouse Lost River is the first driveway on the right after you turn onto Settlers Valley Way. Our address is 288 Settlers Valley Way Lost  River, WV 26810
